Launch of Cycle 1 of the Tae’thir project in the presence of project stakeholders
The first activity cycle of the Tae’thir project, running from February 2024 to October 2025, was launched at a webinar on February 22, 2024, attended by participants, members of the project consortium and members of the advisory board. The event provided an opportunity to introduce the project’s various stakeholders and clarify everyone’s expectations and needs.
The call for applications for this cycle was launched in October 2023 and closed in December 2023, attracting a total of 132 applications. Of these, 21 participants were selected, young artists and digital content creators aged between 22 and 33, from the following 10 Mediterranean countries: Algeria, Egypt, France, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Palestine, Syria, Tunisia and Turkey.
This project will engage young artists and digital influencers from the Mediterranean region in a cycle of activities based around an online training/reflection program, a mentoring and financial support process, multi-stakeholder meetings in Marseille and public presentations.
The online training cycle began on March 6, 2024 for a duration of 5 months, addressing human rights themes through the prisms of censorship, patriarchy and criticism. Mentoring sessions are also planned for April, July and December 2024, as well as a week-long internship in Marseille in October 2024.
Ten projects will be selected to receive financial support for production, to be announced in November 2024. The production phase will run from November 2024 to March 2025, culminating in the final event in October 2025, when the selected productions will be presented at the Festival des Instants Vidéo in Marseille.
The call for applications for the second cycle is scheduled for October 2024. This second cycle will run from February 2025 to May 2026.
